Jacuzzi vs Sundance Spas: Premium Hot Tub Innovation Compared
Investing in a luxury hot tub, like a Jacuzzi in Bournemouth, is not just about relaxation—it’s about choosing a product that enhances your wellness, complements your lifestyle, and stands the test of time. In the UK’s competitive market, two names stand out: Jacuzzi and Sundance Spas. While both offer premium quality, Sundance Spas excels with its forward-thinking engineering and groundbreaking hydrotherapy innovations, making it the ideal choice for discerning customers.
Brand Heritage and Innovation
Jacuzzi revolutionized the spa industry in the 1950s with their underwater jet pump invention, becoming a household name for hot tubs worldwide. However, Sundance Spas, founded in 1979, took spa innovation to new heights with unique features like recessed jet clusters, electronic spa controls, and moulded headrests. Their commitment to rethinking spa engineering has resulted in cutting-edge technologies that enhance every aspect of your spa experience. Read more about the evolution of Sundance.
Engineering Philosophy
The difference lies in the details:
- Jacuzzi relies on proven design elements like ProEndure™ cabinetry and durable shell construction.
- Sundance Spas integrates every component—from jets to water care systems—into a seamless unit, ensuring optimal performance and unparalleled reliability. This holistic design means your Sundance spa feels like a tailored retreat, engineered specifically for your comfort and convenience.
Hydrotherapy: The Ultimate Relaxation
Hydrotherapy is where Sundance Spas truly shines. Their exclusive Fluidix® jet technology revolutionizes jet design with no moving parts, ensuring durability and delivering precise, therapeutic massages. Whether you prefer the soothing strokes of a Swedish massage or the deep pressure of Shiatsu, Sundance Spas provides a customized, spa-like experience every time.
New on the 880 series is the PT or percussive therapy jet, this jet series replicates the benefits of a massage gun, giving huge relief to those who play lots of sports or frequently work out. Its the best back massage in the business!
In comparison, Jacuzzi’s PowerPro® jets offer effective massage performance, but they can’t match the versatility and longevity of Sundance’s Fluidix technology, due to even the top of the range models still using jets with moving parts.
Jacuzzi has however, brought red light therapy to market recently, something we would like to try ourselves to see if it has any benefits.
Customising the massage
On a Sundance Spa, the power of the massage experience is controlled by an air diverter dial. Much like a dimmer switch, you can vary the intensity of the massage in very fine increments, so that its just right for your tastes. On some of Jacuzzi’s hot tubs, they instead use a switch. This means the massage is either on low or full power, lacking the ability to offer any further customisation.
Water Care: Crystal Clear, Hassle-Free
Sundance Spas leads the way in water care with its MicroClean Ultra Filtration System and ClearRay Active Oxygen technology. Together, these systems ensure water quality comparable to drinking water while minimizing chemical use. This means less time spent maintaining your spa and more time enjoying it.
The MicroClean filters lay vertically in the spa and draw water from both ends, meaning the entire filter surface is used efficiently.
In contrast, Jacuzzi uses filters that stand vertically and the suction is from one end, so that part of the filter gets far dirtier and the other end is used less. The filters also lack the second inner filter of the MicroClean system like on a Sundance, which can remove particles down to 3 micron.
While Jacuzzi does offer an effective water management system, Sundance’s integrated approach delivers superior results with less effort.
Energy Efficiency Tailored to UK Conditions
Both brands prioritize energy efficiency, but Sundance Spas’ full-foam insulation, smart heating systems, and robust weather protection are designed to thrive in British weather. With running costs as low as £40-£60 per month, Sundance Spas provide exceptional performance without straining your wallet.
